One Voice works with a coalition of parents, students, educators, policy makers, and organizations who have joined to derail the school-to-prison pipeline in Mississippi through training, policy advocacy at the local and state levels, and technical assistance to families and schools, One Voice will attack student “push out” by providing direct technical assistance to families advocating on behalf of students who have been arrested, suspended, or expelled from school. One Voice and its partners will work with the Department of Justice to review school districts with documented instances of racial disparities when it comes to the distribution of punishment for the same or similar offenses.
